Changing the world is possible.
We’ve done it before.
Both Dan-Erik and Angsana grew up in
small villages
surrounded by farmers. Somehow, both of us ended up getting Ph.D. degrees. Our farming side is still a big and
important part
of our personalities, and has shaped our view of what we would like
Attaluck
to be. We want to grow, nurture, nourish, and enrich.
Who knows what the future holds. It is easy to aim for
a better tomorrow
for us and our children. If we can, we would like to do more than that. How about a better tomorrow for everyone? Or at the very least a better tomorrow
for our employees and customers
.
Timeline
While living in Thailand, people kept asking Angsana where she bought her clothes and accessories because they wanted the same thing. The idea of Attaluck was born, to provide an easy way to deliver these things.
We moved from Thailand to Sweden.
Attaluck was founded in Sweden. The basic business idea was just to expand on hobbies and hopefully reduce our expenses through income.
After a somewhat disappointing start, we shut down our original homepage and web shop and started looking at new ways of dealing with our online presence. Dreaming big, but looking for a starting point in the real world.
Final goal: Zaibatsu. With this end goal in mind, we started shaping a way forward. This led to the divisions of Ka, Seaworthy, ISIS. With the expectation of many more divisions to come, even if the actual business side of things hadn't been kicked off yet.
Odoo was chosen for ERP and new website, shop, and so on was introduced. Still with the basic idea of expanding on our hobbies, but in a way that opens up bigger opportunities down the road.
A 2-year-old and a 5-year-old takes up all of our time, or what is left after full time employments, taking care of the house, sail boat, car, and finding a little bit of time for rest and traveling. Attaluck has been resting in the background, but we are moving everything over from a web hotel to completely self-hosted, which is also quite a bit of work.
Infrastructure is important. While we didn't have time to do much with actual business, the company have grown internally. There are well laid plans for how to grow, when to grow, and better internal functions that should help achieve that once we get going.
LDAP server, brand new PostgreSQL database for a special application we are developing, and polishing our infrastructure. We are also working on a few books, course material, and more foundations for our company.
